Thru my ocean of tears I cried unto the Lord
My load is too heavy to bear
Life seems so unfair in my rough seas of life
Financial losses, job layoffs, death, pain and suffering
Why are you so silent, Lord?

Hold me, hold me, Lord, close to you
Tenderly wipe all my tears away
Into Thy arms I recline
Comfort and heal my brokenness
Just hold me, Lord – Hold me!

I’ve seen your tears, He tenderly replies
I will heal you with my grace
Let me carry your load
I will give you rest
I’ll always be with you
When it seems all hope is gone
I’ll give you strength to go on
Come, let me hold you, my child!

Just hold me, Lord – Hold me!
Hold me, Jesus!

There have been many lonely days and nights these last eighteen years of chronic pain and suffering. I would cry out to God and pray, “Jesus, hold me; put your arms around me. Somehow, Lord, let me feel Your presence!” Oh, what peace He would bestow!

Psalm 30:2; 31:22 – “O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me…thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.”

Psalm 147:3 – “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Psalm 73:23, 34:17, 19 – “Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

Isaiah 41:10 and 13 – “…Thy right hand hath holden me up…Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe…For the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee with the right hand of righteousness.”

Psalm 6:2,3,6,8,9 – “Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord heal me; O Lord how long? I am weary with my groanings: all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears…for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.”

1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your cares upon Him; for He careth for you.”

Psalm 138:3 – “In the day when I cried thou answereth me, and strengtheneth me with strength in my soul.”

Isaiah 42:6; 46:2 – “I the Lord…will hold thine hand, and will keep thee…I will carry you.”

Job 12:9 – “Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?”
