Dear Heavenly Father …

Many year ago as a young child
In repentance I came to You
Mercy and grace You imparted
To save a sinner as me
Such love at Calvary You did show
By faith I came to believe in You!
Thank You, Lord, for loving me!

Through all of life’s storms
You came, oh, so near
To quiet my anxious fears
And give me peace in the night
As the storm raged on
Working all things together for my good!
Thank You, Lord, for loving me!

As autumntime of life comes on
I’m still an old sinner saved by grace
And I can truly say, Lord
You have never failed me
Nor forsaken me
But proved your love to me
Time and time again!
Thank You, Lord, for loving me!

Thank you, Lord, for loving me!
Thank you, Lord, for Calvary!
I love and adore You, Precious Lord!
Thank You, Lord! Thank You, Lord! Thank You, Lord…

In your precious and wonderful name…

Your Child, Barbara Summers

Written February 2002…my testimony to God’s faithfulness to me!
Saved over 50 years – was almost 6 years old.

***When I started first grade after I got saved and memorized John 3:16, I asked my mother where it was in the Bible. Then I would go to school with my little New Testament and open it to John 3:16 and pretend I was reading the verse. I really only wanted to, in my little childish way, show them how to be saved too.

These verses showed me I was a sinner (nobody had to convince me; I already knew I was a sinner).

Isaiah 64:6; Romans 5:8, 3:23; 3:10 – “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one. All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

GOD’S LOVE – Jesus paid the price for my sins at the cross of Calvary/free gift of grace

Romans 5:15, 6:23; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4, 5,8, 9 – “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us…even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)…for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN (I learned to go to heaven someday, I had to be born again.) John 3:7, 3, 15 – “Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again…except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God…that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

BY FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST I BELIEVED – CONFESSION (So, I called on Jesus in prayer and repented of my sins and asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me. I believed he died for me at Calvary in my place.) Romans 10:9, 10, 13 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
