The stab came swift and sharp
My friend’s words pierced my heart
To wound and tear my soul apart
Ending our friendship for sure!

My open wounds became infected
With the pus of bitterness and betrayal
As the stitches on the surface reflected
While deep in my inner soul I walked
with sorrow and grief.

Jesus too was wounded for our transgressions
Spit upon and whipped sending Him to Calvry’s cross
By His own peoples’ aggressions
Beginning with Judas’ kiss…The ultimate betrayal!

So, Jesus knows what I’m goin’ through today
He too walked with sorrow and grief in His day
So, I’ll bring my heartaches to the cross always
Where He can help me forgive and heal my deep wounds.

Jesus understands, because He’s been there BETRAYED!

Luke 22: 47-48 – “…Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him: But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?”

Matthew 26:47-50 – “And while he yet spake; lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; hold him fast. And forthwith he came to Jesus and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.”

Luke 23:34 – “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

So, let us be Christ-like and forgive those who betray and hurt us and try to steal our JOY. Ask God to help you forgive.
