Hurts and disappointments and suffering
Only point us to look to Jesus more
Where we remember how much our Savior suffered too.
He knows and understands
Because He’s been there; so
Cling to Jesus!

When all hope is gone,
The valley seems so low,
Grab hold of Jesus’ Hand
And hold on with childlike faith.
Never give up – lean on Jesus!
For in the valley His grace He bestows.

When you’re down and out
And your world is turned upside down,
Cling to Jesus! Cling to Jesus!

Clinging is believing and trusting
God is in control. So,
Cling to Jesus! Cling to Jesus!

This was my first poem I wrote on May 11, 1992. I was so burdened for a dear friend as she was passing through a deep valley. So I penned this poem just for her to encourage her.

Colossians 2:6 – “And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust Him too for each day’s problems; live in vital union with Him.” (Living Letters)

Psalm 62:8 – “Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us.”

Proverbs 3:5,6 – “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.”

Joshua 1:9 – “…for the Lord thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest.”

Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 21:3 – “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you."
