"YOU ARE MY ROSE OF SHARON AND MY LILY OF THE VALLEY"

You are my Rose of Sharon, Lord
Such beauty and sweetness I find in Thee
I have come to gather rosebuds from You.
Rosebuds of salvation and grace
Giving me a perfume of sweetness and beauty
in Thy garden of life.

You are my lily of the valley, Lord
Such beauty and sweetness I find in Thee
Leaving a strong perfume which draws me to You.
But thorns come to choke and hinder growth
But, praise God, shortly I shall be transplanted
into Paradise with You!

You are my Rose of Sharon, Rose of Sharon
And my lily of the valley, lily of the valley
Perfuming me with your fragrance of sweetness and beauty
So others can see a rose and a lily in me!

Song of Solomon 2:1-3, 16 – “I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters…his fruit was sweet to my taste…my beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.”

Romans 13:14 – “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.”

Galatians 5:22-24 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”

Song of Solomon: 2:16; 4:16; 1:2; 5:13; 8:3; 6:3 – “My beloved is mine, and I am his he feedeth among the lilies. Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine. …his cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me. I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine: he feedeth among the lilies.”

For Jesus is our HOPE – our Rose of Sharon – perfuming the world with fragrances of His love. He was crushed and bruised at Calvary. His resurrection scars are reminders to us of the pain and suffering and rejection He endured for you and me. So, he truly can empathize with our suffering. Won’t you embrace Jesus, our Hope, our Rose of Sharon today? Don’t ever give up! He will give you grace and strength to triumph over your tragedy you are facing today! Have faith! Roses will bloom again!
